With performances hailed as “stellar”, “energetic,” and “excellent,” mezzo-soprano Kaylee Nichols is making an impact as a young artist. In the 2018 Season, Kaylee will make a series of role and repertoire debuts. She will be returning to Opera Project Columbus as Tisbe and Angelina (cover) in La Cenerentola and debut with Nashville Opera as Flora in La Traviata. She will also be debuting with the Butler Philharmonic Orchestra as the Soprano II Soloist in Mozart’s Mass in C minor and the Alto soloist in Handel’s Messiah. In the 2019 season, she will make her debut with Chattanooga Symphony & Opera as Mercedes in Carmen.
After earning a Master of Music from McGill University in 2016, Kaylee made her debuts with Opera Columbus in Twisted 2, Nightingale Opera Theatre leading the young artist cast as Jo March in Little Women, and Opera Project Columbus as La Madre di Mariuccia in Nino Rota’s I due Timidi. Her Opera McGill credits include Jo March in Little Women, Eduige in Rodelinda, Marcellina in Le nozze di Figaro, and La Maestra delle Novizie in Suor Angelica. Other operatic roles include Dorabella in Cosi fan tutte, Tessa in The Gondoliers, Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro, and Belinda in Dido and Aeneas, and Le converse in Suor Angelica.
